April 2008 Traffic

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

Ice.com, Ice, jewelry, diamonds, ring, rings, necklace, necklaces, pendant, pendants, discount, saleIt is time for our monthly Traffic Report. The lucky recipient of this month’s report is April of course. April had one less day than March but did that affect the final numbers?, we are about to find out. From the first graph you can see that we had a total of 1672 unique visitors and that works out to an average of 56 visitors per day. From the second graph you can see that we had a total of 3202 page views and that works out to an average of 107 page views per day. There were no new records set this month.

If you remember last month I had my suspicions about traffic for March 31st and because of that I didn’t include that day stats’ into the monthly report. Well what do you know?, on April 30 I had another flood of traffic come Weekendshere way but in this case after checking everything out I can say that it was legitimate and so I included it in this month’s report. Enjoy this months’ report and my goal for next month is to beat this month’s numbers of course.

Reader Demographics

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Apple iTunesI have always wondered what the reader demographics of Weekendshere are. Is it mostly male?, is it mostly female?. What if the majority of readers are women?, what if the majority of readers are men?. What is the age breakdown?. Are they mostly in their 20’s, 30’s, or 40’s?, If I left any age group out please don’t be offended. I am sure there a plenty more questions that I just can’t think of right now.

Those are fascinating questions and I sure don’t know the answer to any of them. One way of finding out would be to place a poll and bingo, right?. Not really, I would not be able to answer all those questions with just one poll it would have to be quite a few polls.

It would be worth the effort to find out but I do wonder if I should go ahead with that now specially when I am thinking of making a big change to Weekendshere or do I wait until after that change is made.

Weekendshere Is Worth How Much?

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

The other day I was checking one of the blogs that I actually read and found out that it was for sale. The site is up for sale at Sitepoint with a minimum starting bid of 25K and a Buy It Now price of $50K. So if you ever wanted to blog and you have some money to invest check it out. On a following post the question of how much that blog is worth was raised and that is how I found out about this website where you put in your blog’s name at it tells you how much your blog is worth so as you can see I did just that and that is how much my beloved Weekendshere is worth. It is a good thing that I sold it on April 1st of this year for a whole lot more than that, you can read about it here.

My blog is worth $1,129.08.
How much is your blog worth?

<>

I also checked how much Mydailymundo and Gainsnlosses are worth and to my complete surprise they are worth exactly the same as Weekendshere. So I am left with the question of how much is this blog really worth and to be honest the way I see it my three blogs are priceless.

Welcome to another edition of Greatest Hits. This is a post highlighting the most viewed post of March, at least that is the idea. Every once in a while you find a nice surprise and it looks like that is the case this time around. Enjoy the posts and  I will see you Tuesday morning bright and early.

  1. The most clicked on post of March was, Mini Weekend. This post was published on Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007.
  2. The second most clicked on post was, February 2008 Greatest Hits. This post was published on Wednesday, March 12th, 2008.
  3. The third most clicked on post was, Happy Birthday Weekendshere!!!!. This post was published on Monday, March 3rd, 2008.
  4. The fourth most clicked on post was, No New Posts Today. This was published on Monday, March 10th, 2008.
  5. The fifth most clicked on post was, Happy Saint Patrick’s Day. This post was published on Monday, March 17th, 2008.

One post from Ramblings made the list, one from Blogging and three from Uncategorized. The one surprise this month for me is sitting in the number one spot, Mini Weekend was first published on July 3rd of 2007 but made quite an entrance in March 2008 all the way to number one. Will Mini Weekend make it to next month’s list or will it go away quietly, only one way to find out.

Don’t forget there are brand new posts at Mydailymundo  and Gainsnlosses, don’t forget to check them out.

March 2008 Traffic

Friday, April 4th, 2008

February had only 29 days last time I checked so traffic was down because of that, I think. Now it’s time to check how we did in March so hold on to your seats because that traffic report is next. From the first graph you can see that we had a total of 1489 unique visitors and that works out to an average of 50 visitors per day. From the second graph you can see that we had a total of 3098 page views and that works out to an average of 103 page views per day.

If you have four good eyes like I do then I am sure you noticed the extra 2 graphs this month. You see on March 31 a flood of traffic came Weekendshere way. It started at 3 PM and finally died down at about 9 PM and if you check the page views for that day you can see the same things it should be. Total unique visitors for that day were 333 with 630 page views. Now I did not include this day stats into the monthly total because I am doing some digging on this because all that heavy traffic came from one single Internet provider. If it were spread out more evenly between a bunch of Internet providers this would’ve never registered with me since that was not the case I find it very suspicious but it is very suspicious. I also would understand if a lot of people came to Weekendshere to read an article in particular but in this case this past Monday’s post was a short one that didn’t get that many extra views. Anyway, I don’t know if I am making a big fuss out of nothing but I just wanted to let you know how I felt about the whole thing. If anybody has an explanation feel free to clue me in ok, in the meantime enjoy the report.
