Wednesday Video

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

I am feeling a lot better but not 100% yet. Halfway through the week and only two more days to go. Last week’s video was “Only Time” by Enya. I had heard about her but never listened to anything by her before until I received an e-card for my birthday from my friend if I remember correctly. I asked her about the music and who that was and she said “Enya” and ever since I have liked that song. Thanks to my dear friend, she knows that she will forever hold a special place in my heart, Love You :). And that brings us to today’s video which I like. If you like it or hate be sure to let me know ok, I have a feeling that you will like it.

$100 A Month

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

Back in April I wrote about doubling the amount invested in my 403-B, you can read that post here. Well I finally did it and starting this week $50 dollars will be deducted from each paycheck for a total of $100 dollars a month. I also made some changes in my portfolio. Joining my 14.841 shares of DFA Emerging Markets (DFEMX) will be 20.862 shares of Fidelity Select Wireless (FWRLX) and 20.983 shares of Fidelity Small Cap Growth (FCPGX), all of them mutual funds.

I went ahead with the change because I wanted to push my DCP in the right direction and because I was disappointed with the 5.6% rate of return as of my last investing report on October 4, 2007. So far this year my 403-B has outperformed my DCP by 26 percentage points as of last investing report. Hopefully this change will help close that gap.

Cough, Cough

Monday, October 15th, 2007

I thought that by the end of the weekend I would be done with the flu and go back to my old happy go lucky self. Not completely 100% yet but gone one is that runny nose I like so much and now I am left with a lousy cough that won’t go away.

On Saturday I got up at, I really don’t remember the time but I was sometime in the afternoon. I watched some TV and took my medicine. When it was time to go to bed I couldn’t so I got online for a while and then played X The Threat and ended up going to bed at about 6AM.

On Sunday I went to bed at about 6AM and got up at 3:30PM, I was supposed to go play basketball at 2PM. After telling all my friends that I was definitely going to be there, I am sure going to heard about it. I then played Resident Evil 4 for a while and then played X The Threat until about 10PM then I laid down in bed to see if I could go to sleep. This was without a doubt a pretty lousy weekend and I still have this crummy cough and my voice sounds funny.

In The News

Friday, October 12th, 2007

I sure didn’t feel this week at all it just flew by, maybe it was because I was sick and medicated but whatever the reason that is just fine because today is Friday and that means that it’s time for In The News. Don’t forget to read every 4 hours and don’t read more than 12 times in a 24 hour period.

  1. Did you read about the six Japanese bureaucrats? It seems that six officials were reprimanded for spending hours contributing to Wikipedia on topics ranging from movies, billboard signs and 260 entries about Gundam a cartoon about robots. The six were verbally reprimanded and access to Wikipedia was disabled. “The Agriculture Ministry is not in charge of Gundam,” said ministry official Tsutomu Shimomura.
  2. Did you read about the Batman comic?  It seems that collector Todd McDevitt bought a near mint copy of Detective Comics No 27 worth about $250,000 and can fetch up to $500,000. The comic is considered the second most valuable after Action Comics No 1, Superman’s first appearance.
  3. Did you read about the sexiest woman alive? It seems that Charlize Theron has been named the “sexiest woman alive” by Esquire magazine. The 32 year old actress has won an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a Screen Actor’s Guild Award.
