Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Have a safe Halloween everybody and with that we can say say goodbye to October and pretty soon we’ll be saying goodbye to 2007. Last week’s video was “The One” by Gary Allan. This is one one of those songs you can’t get out of your head because it’s so darn good. And that brings us to today’s video which I like a lot, will you like it or hate it?.

Such A Beauty

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

On Friday on the bus on my way to work I was sitting in my usual place, all the way in the back next to the window. I usually listen to my Zune but at the moment I am Zuneless so there went that idea and I didn’t feel like reading so I was content to just check the views. And that is when I saw her, it had been a while since I had seen such a beauty but there she was right before my eyes, those curves, those lights, it was one of those 80’s Camaros. If there ever was a car that I would get this is it, if I had the money or course but I don’t. I could get a loan you know and if the monthly payment were close to $25 dollars a month I could afford that. But then reality sets in, insurance, gasoline, tires, oil changes, parking fees at work and the list just goes on and on and with that my beauty just slips away out of sight. The picture below is not of the beauty I saw just a picture to let you see what I am talking about. This is a 1989 Camaro IROC Z, isn’t she a beauty?.

There Goes The Weekend

Monday, October 29th, 2007

Another weekend has come to an end and for some strange reason I am ready for the week ahead.

On Saturday I went to bed at about 6 AM because I spend most of the night surfing the net and watching music videos and ended up getting up at about 2:20 PM I think it was. Then I played Resident Evil 4 for a while before watching some TV. I am still trying to get over Thursday first round playoff game between the DC United and the Chicago Fire in which my team lost 1-0. They better play like the champions they want to be this Thursday or is adios United and that would really  annoy me.

On Sunday I got up at about 10:30 AM, the plan was to go play some basketball but in the end I didn’t go, can you believe that?. Knowing that I was not going to go anywhere I got online to catch up on some of my daily reading since I was behind. Next thing I know it’s getting late so I played some more RE4 and then went to bed. A very slow weekend indeed.

In The News

Friday, October 26th, 2007

I have been waiting for the weekend patiently and now that it is almost here I don’t know what to do. This much I know, before you make any plans for your weekend read In The News with the most up to date information available on the planet.

  1. Did you read about the Airbus A380? The world’s largest airliner completed its first flight on Thursday. The giant double-decker plane took 455 passengers from Singapore to Sydney in style, For Thursday’s inaugural flight, suites passengers were offered Dom Perignon Rose 1996, caviar and a menu including duck breast and black cod.
  2. Did you read about Loving the Internet? It seems that in a Zogby poll released on Wednesday one in four Americans say the Internet can serve as a substitute for a significant other. The online survey of 9,743 was conducted between October 4-8. I thought I was the only one, I feel much better now.
  3. Did you read the painting found in the thrash? It seems that a stolen masterpiece by Mexican artist Rufino Tamayo is expected to  sell for as much as $1 million dollars. Elizabeth Gibson will get a $15,000 reward for returning the painting  that she found 4 years ago among some garbage bags in the Upper West Side to its rightful owners, as well as an undisclosed percentage of the auction price.

Vacation?…….Denied!!

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

If everything had gone according to plans I would be on vacation today and tomorrow. I asked for 2 days vacation to relax and unwind for the next four days but my request was denied. I am not mad or angry just disappointed, you see I am the type of guy who will not use sick time for a day off  I ‘d much rather use vacation time but that it’s just me. I have been working at this place for one year and eight months and have called in sick just once. I had food poisoning and was out for 2 days thanks to a certain burger place. “That is all right, I am ok, it ain’t nothing but another day.”  I put it another vacation request today for November 7, 8 and 9, we’ll see what happens, wink, wink.

*For the record, I would call in sick if I met a pretty lady on the bus. I would take her to Santa Monica beach, get some food, walk on the sand barefoot and finally we would watch the sunset together :)
