Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

I am having lots of trouble with my high speed connection, in fact I can’t go online for some reason. I had to connect via dial up (good thing I didn’t cancel that when I got high speed). I apologize for the short post today but I gotta find out what is wrong with my high speed connection. I will see you Wednesday bright and early.

So Tired

Monday, July 9th, 2007

It is Monday and I am so tired. Went to bed real late Friday, Saturday and Sunday and that was my fault. Now I have to pay the piper and I know that is my fault also. The weekend was nice and sunny unfortunately I was getting up at about 1 PM  and too tired to actually do something. Do you what the sad part is?, I was going to go play basketball yesterday  bust as you know I didn’t. Anyway, I am an optimist so I am going to forget this past weekend and look forward to the next, only 4 days away. The U.S. lost to Paraguay in their last game at Copa America 1-0. This was last week but didn’t mention it because I was sooooooo disappointed. I expected them to do a lot better that that and as a result they were eliminated. One team that is coming around after a lousy start is the D.C. United. We are in second place  in the Eastern Division with 23 points and a  7-4-2 record. If we had beaten the Houston Dynamo on Sunday we would be in first, but we lost 1-0. Ok, lets grab this week by the horns and make it a good one.

In The News

Friday, July 6th, 2007

Friday is here and will be over even faster. No doubt you have lots of things to do today but before you do that read In The News and forget everything else. Cheaper than $3 regular gas and staying that way.

  1. Did you read about Captain America? If you remember we reported back on March 9th about the death of Captain America, read about it here. After battling evil doers for 66 years Captain America was buried at Arlington National Cemetery in the latest issue of Marvel Comics’ “Fallen Son” out yesterday. And just like I said last time, I am sad but I have this strange feeling that he’ll be back.
  2. Did you read about 07/07/07? It seems that the superstitious types are planning important events on this day specially weddings. The number 7 is considered to be lucky number. I am not superstitious but I do have a thing for numbers, check this post.
  3. Did you read about the new Hot Dog eating champ? Joey Chestnut of San Jose, California became the newest champion of the annual Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating contest. Eating 66 weiners in 12 minutes Joey broke the six year winning streak of Takeru “Tsunami” Kobayashi who settled for second place with 63 weiners. Joey won the mustard yellow championship belt as well as $10,000. Check the pic below.
