In The News

Friday, April 13th, 2007

The last day of the week is here and with that we prepare to say hello to the weekend. But before the weekendshere it is time for a favorite of young and old alike. Yes, I am talking about In The News.

  1. Did you read about the man that dreamed a number?. A man in Britain dreamed of a phone number. He text messaged that number that belonged to a lady who was confused about the message but decided to answer. They continued messaging, they meet, fell in love and the rest as they say is history. They’ve just returned from their honeymoon.
  2. Did you read about the world’s 2nd richest man?. It seems Mexican telecom magnate Carlos Slim with $53.1 billion just passed Warren Buffet with $52.4 billion as the second richest man in the world. Bill Gates is number one with $56 billion big ones. Could I have a loan guys?. All I need is $100G to start my own business.

Nothing To Write About

Tuesday, April 10th, 2007

For the first time in while I don’t know what to write about. I have been thinking about what to write since 1 am this morning if you can believe it, it is now 2:10 pm and still nothing. To me that is very sad to say the least. So I  have been doing a lot of thinking about the subject. Weekends I usually don’t write that much but that is going to change if I don’t want the same thing to happen again. Here is the plan, it’s rather easy. Write a list of what to write for each day of the week and the problem will hopefully be solved. It is time to pack my knives and go, but you can be sure I will see you tomorrow.

Back To Work

Monday, April 9th, 2007

The weekend was over faster than I expected. This was a pretty sad weekend for me to say the least. On Sunday my team the four time champion D.C. United lost to the Colorado Rapids 2-1 in the season opener. It is ok, there is plenty of season left and I am cool, calm and collected. On Sunday I played some ball, four points and five lousy rebounds in three games was not what I was expecting. I did get a nice elbow to the mouth though, all my teeth are still available and that is what matters, right?. Still hurts just thinking about how badly I played. Hope your weekends was a lot better and more enjoyable than mine. And finally, here is to making this workweek a very productive one in both personal and business matters.

In The News

Friday, April 6th, 2007

Friday is here and with that another edition of In The News. One of the stories is close to my heart because it has to do with Heavy Metal. So before I get all sentimental, here is the news.

  1. Did you read about baby ?. A couple in Sweden want to name their 6 month old baby girl Metallica but the Swedish National Tax Board refused to register the name because the name is associated with the rock group and the word "metal". All I can say is, "is this love?".
  2. Did you read about the $17K found at the Sands Casino Hotel?. The casino closed last November and will be demolish later this year. Workers removing the slot machines found a grand total of $17,193.34. New Jersey gets 8% of that in taxes. Some states have all the luck.
  3. Did you read about ".com" and ".net"?. Verisign the company that keeps track of all the ".com" and ".net" domain names registry will have a rate increase. ".com" will go up 7% to $6.42 and ".net" 10% to $3.85 starting October 15 of this year. The hike only affects new name registrations and renewals. How much do I have in my Coin Counting Money Jar?.
